  1. An individual who qualifies for a veteran’s employment preference is entitled to a preference in the interview process over other applicants for the same position who do not have a greater qualification. 然而, the Veteran’s Preference statute does not guarantee the veteran a job. 1. Does 退伍军人就业偏好 (VEP) mean that if a Veteran applies for a position, 我们被要求雇用他/她?

3. What if the VEP candidates meet the position MQ’s but score lower than any other candidate on the matrix even with VEP points added?

If you have 2 candidates with the exact same educational credentials and the exact same number of years of the exact same type of experience, AND if both candidates perform exactly the same in the interview/assessment process, then there is a very good possibility that you will need to extend the offer to the VEP candidate.
